WEDDINGS – Frequently asked questions
What’s it like having Brooke Peterson Photography photograph your wedding?
You will have so much fun in front of the camera on your wedding day. Although we do set up some stylish poses and take family formals, our approach is mostly photojournalistic- for most of your day, you will forget that we are even there. Photographing one of the biggest days of your life is not something we take lightly- it is an honor to do so and we feel very privileged. Don’t be surprised if you see us tearing up behind the camera.
Will we travel for a wedding assignment?
Most definitely we travel! Please inquire for a detailed quote.
Wondering how you will share your images with family and friends?
We put all of your images from weddings in individual online proofing galleries. You can share the link with family and friends, and everyone has the option to purchase image downloads and prints.
Do you own the printing rights to your images?
Included in two out of three of the wedding collections we offer are the digital negatives with copyright permission. They are also offered in the A La Carte part of our pricing menu. When you receive your digital negatives, your images have been color-corrected, cropped, sharpened, etc. In other words, none of our digital negatives ever go unedited.
Is Brooke the photographer at your wedding, or would it be someone else (an associate)?
Brooke is always going to be there photographing all the lovely details of your day. Brooke is the lead photographer even in the case where you hire two photographers from Brooke Peterson Photography.
Considering doing a “First Look” prior to the ceremony?
Great! About 75% of our brides choose this option. A “First Look” is a very private and special moment the bride and groom get to share with each other before the day proceeds. A location is picked out where it is just the two of you and the photographer. After the big moment of seeing each other for the first time we are able to spend ample time taking images of the two of you, wedding party and family in natural light. Your wedding day runs smoother and you are able to go straight from your ceremony to hanging out with your guests at the reception.
How do you book?
A 50% non-refundable retainer along with a signed contract is due in order to reserve your date with us. Everything is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Remember, we take a limited amount of weddings each year so the sooner you book, the better!
